Myth #5

"My clients can't afford a Long-Term Care Plan.....It's too expensive"

Fact:  Long-Term Care (LTC) planning is a process, NOT a product.  Sometimes having a plan is a simple as understanding the benefits of Medicare and what assets your clients will tap if care required isn't covered by Medicare.   Thus, it's a misconception that it's "too expensive" because going through the process costs nothing.

Once that process is complete, and it's determined the LTC Plan should include an insurance solution, then it would be prudent to let clients know there are solutions to fit nearly anyone’s budget and financial goals.  Quite often, recommended planning solutions allow for the repositioning of existing assets to implement a plan with little or no out-of-pocket cost.

While LTC Planning may seem or sound expensive, not having a plan can be much more "costly" to your clients and their families.  While the financial costs can quickly deplete your client’s hard-earned life savings, there are many unintended and impactful physical and emotional "costs" for the entire family.
